Used Books
Used Books continues to
be a SEARCH highlight. It is the largest used book sale in Pennsylvania. With
thousands of books and dollars changing hands, Used Books is a blessing to both
the buyer and the seller. Last year, over $25,000 changed hands between those
who sold and those who bought. You, too, can be involved in either buying or
selling used books.
The Used Book sale will be conducted on a consignment basis, with a 15%-30%
consignment fee on books sold at the fair. Consignment fees change according to
sale guidelines. The consignment fee scale is explained on the "Procedures" fact sheet. To
sell your used books please refer to the
Used Book Procedures at bottom of this
page, or send a business-size, self-addressed, stamped envelope to:

Procedures sheet carefully! Books not properly labeled will not be accepted.
Labels can be printed from the website by clicking Labels at bottom of page. All books must be picked up by
Saturday, June 14th no later than 5:00PM. Any books remaining after that will be considered
abandoned and will be disposed of in whatever manner SEARCH deems appropriate.
Proceeds from anyone abandoning books will be donated to the ongoing work of
SEARCH. A check for the amount you sold, less the consignment fee, will be sent
to you within 4 weeks after the SEARCH conference. In order for SEARCH to
determine the amount you sold, it is essential that you leave your “sold” book
tags with the Used Book Staff. It is also essential that you register upon
arrival at Used Books so we know to whom we should send the check. If you have
